-- plotHooked
 [PH]
 began pestering seriousPirate
 [SP]
 at 21:12 --
PH: Torent! Torent, Torent, Torent, Torent! TORENT!
SP: ahoy
PH: Ahoy, hail, be ?re?ared to be boarded, ?ut u? thy wea?ons, etcetera.
PH: Are you in?
SP: huh
SP: aye i guess
SP: why didn7 anyone 7ell me 7here would be so much wa7er
SP: yer hive doesn7 seem 7o have wa7er
SP: i mean no7 wa7er everywhere
SP: jus7 7hose random wa7erfalls
PH: Well, Kyarib!
PH: You're a ?irate.
SP: and
PH: You didn't think you'd be ?lunked down in the middle of the desert, did you?
PH: That would just be ridiculous!
SP: uh
SP: yes
SP: i7 would be pre77y silly
SP: if i would be
SP: or would have been
SP: ha ha
SP: 7ha7 would have been even sillier
PH: What does your land look like? Are there waves as tall as mountains?? Are the tides violent and seething, foam s?lattering against the hull of your -- well, hive, I su??ose????
PH: Can you s?y any land at all, or are you in the middle of the Dee?s???
PH: Oooh, do you think there are monsters...
PH: ... like in your dreams? Under the water?
PH: >:O
SP: as fyarr as i know my hive and 7ha7 volcano nex7 7o my hive yarre 7he only pieces of land yarround
SP: bo7h pyarr7ially flooded
SP: and i haven7 really no7iced 7he waves being pyarr7iculyarrry lyarrge
SP: much like how i expec7ed waves 7o be like ou7 a7 sea
SP: i mean knew
SP: knew how waves would be
SP: yarre
SP: and yes 7here yarre 7hose black 7hings
SP: or mainly black a7 leas7
SP: bu7 7hey yarren7 like in my dreams
SP: 7hese 7hings have 7hings like crocodile snou7s and some7imes even wings
SP: i 7hink i heyarrd one of 7hem call me a fea7herly bas7yarrd ac7ually
PH: ...I noticed when some of them began a??earing with wings. What did you ?rototy?e?
PH: Was Aascam ?rofessional, servering for you??
SP: polly
SP: my lusus 7ha7 is
SP: and yes i7 wen7 smoo7hly
SP: as ye would expec7 when lower blood serves a higher cas7e
PH: Your lusus! I didn't realize you could ?rototy?e living things!
SP: id ra7her no7 7alk abou7 7ha7
PH: >':| Yes. Things always go smoothly when a lower blood serves a higher caste. There are no shenanigans like hives being wrecked and dads being im?aled through the eye. That would be com?lete scandal. Unheard of.
PH: ... Although if something like that ha??ened with ?olly, I'm sorry! >:(
PH: Well! It's a good thing you're surrounded by water, isn't it?
PH: Now you can strike out in your shi?!
PH: And find adventure, and your first gate!
SP: uh
SP: of course
SP: im working on 7ha7
SP: bu7 uh
SP: i can7 find my ship
SP: because
SP: i7s no7 here
PH: Hmm. I might be able to alchemize the ?ieces I have lying around for Nautically-inclined Moving Contra?tions and send you the code. They'd ?robably take a lot of GRIST to make, though. More than I have now. More than you have now. ?ossibly a huge boatload -- hee, hee! -- of treasure would be necessary. Which means a lot of killing these monsters! >:) Or maybe you have stuff lying around which you can use to make a new boat? With that ?unch Designix thingy?
SP: if we find a way 7o resize 7hings
PH: ?sht. You're used to a one-man shi?, aren't you? Something like that might not cost THAT much grist. Maybe.
PH: ...Everything ?oints to slaughtering more of these monsters. Hee. Wouldn't it be a shocking develo?ment if they were actually hel?ful?
PH: And what we see as attacks -- you know, the claws, the wea?ons, the teeth, the suddenly-caught-in-Final-Trollacyish fight music --
PH: ...is actually their way of saying, "Hello. ?lease be our friend."
SP: friends don7 pop in yer hive wi7hou7 calling
PH: >:P Did you live near very many trolls? Granted, most friends didn't ?o? by MINE without calling because...
PH: ... >:( they'd get eaten.
PH: But it is the friendly, neighborly thing to do!
PH: You can still see me, right?
SP: hold on
SP: yes i can s7ill see ye
PH: Yay! <3 I need you to do a thing now that you're not in immediate danger of death.
PH: See that cliff?
-- plotHooked
 [PH]
is on the roof of her hive. If SP zooms out, he'll see the cliff she means. It isn't far from her hive at all, since it is LOOMING OVER IT, although the ledge/ruin her hive is wedged atop is separated from the cliff by a BOTTOMLESS chasm. There are wisps of luminous (lightning-crackling) clouds floating beneath her hive, and of course, down the cliff a number of waterfalls are -- falling. There are more cliffs, ledges, etcetera, but it's the BIG ONE that Arethusa is indicating, and if he REALLY zooms out, he'll notice something at the top.  Another SGRUB sigil. --

 [PH]
the cliff looks like the kind of thing the concept of "climbing" has nightmares about. The kind of cliff "gravity" probably has romantic flushed quadrant DREAMS about. In other words, a cliff that it is totally fucking impossible to climb. --
SP: okay i go7 7his
SP: don7 worry
PH: Wait, wait, wait!
PH: Sorry, that was reflex. >:P
-- seriousPirate [SP] starts building stairs to the other side of the cliff, but the limited amount of grist only lets Kyarib to build it most of the way, leaving a jumpable space between the stairs and the cliff --
SP: i ran ou7 of gris7
SP: wa7ch ou7 for 7he pi7

is apparently engaged IN BATTLE, AGAIN. And oh shit son, what's that? What's that GIGANTIC, MONSTROUS fiend-thing, casting a shadow across Arethusa's hive? Why, it's a giant imp. Yay, prototyping Croc?o?. It's a giant imp (ogre?) with WINGS. And one eye. And a parrot mouth. And eyes that smoulder and sparkle. And a necklace of hearts and spades. And bird claws. Oh, and hey. The parrot mouth opens and it has crocodile teeth. That isn't disturbing at all. It looks like Arethusa will be busy for a while! --
-- seriousPirate [SP] grabs the chandelier used to accidentally kill a lusus earlier, and starts smashing it against the imp
SP: 7his seems familyarr for some reason
SP: deja vu or wha7ever
SP: yell have 7o finish 7ha7 7hing yerself 7hough i seem 7o have visi7ors as well
PH: >:) It won't be a ?roblem, Torent. Dismissed! Go be a badass!
PH: ... And let me know when and if you want shi? codes. >;)
-- plotHooked
 [PH]
a battle was engaged. The echeladder would be scaled. Teamwork, man. It is the best work. If one has to work. Which one does when the apocalypse has come. Ah well. --
